A familiar scene, where dogs run free and people wander, sometimes it can feel a little bit chaotic.
I had never visited the park on a Sunday morning, though. It was early this Sunday, the day of the Cape Town Marathon, which had sadly been canceled. Maybe it was quieter than usual because of that, but the gusts of wind that had kept us up all night seemed to have settled, and a peaceful feeling hung in the air.
As I left the park and saw the runners in their race numbers moving along the streets, a feeling of pride overcame me. For our city, in our people, in being a runner, and in how we persevere.
